MV Horsa is steeped in Cross Channel History.

One of three ships built in the 1971’s the Horsa, together with its sister ships Senlac & Hengest, were prime movers in getting Cross Channel Crossings to where it is today.  The ships based out of Dover, Folkestone & Newhaven all made numerous crossings in the 1970’s to 1990 to their french destinations (with the occasional trip to Ireland  thrown in for good measure.  It depends entirely on income raised from visitors, corporate hospitality and weddings, filming, fundraising and the generosity of its supporters to preserve the ship to a high and safe standard for the benefit of this and future generations.

Horsa is the only surviving one of the three built in the 1970’s and is still working to this day.  Few ships subsequently, can have led such a chequered life as Horsa, one of the true cross channel heroes is today a national treasure to be preserved for posterity.
